Detailed abstract description: One of the challenges in effectively impacting the health of young persons is continually developing and enhancing strategies to provide public health information through age-appropriate, engaging activities. This presentation will provide an overview of a public health education activity developed by a multidisciplinary team which uses Escape Rooms as a public health communication technique. Two separate Escape Room activities were developed: one with a target audience of college-aged students with a focus on sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention and treatment, and a second with a target audience of high school students with a focus on broad-based infectious disease prevention and treatment. Participants in this presentation will receive an overview of the context and development of the escape rooms as well as an opportunity to participate and experience an example of an escape room focused on STI knowledge and attitudes. Attendees will be asked to actively participate in the escape room learning activity.
