Karissa Garza

The Fresno High School Women’s Alliance is a student-led group dedicated to advocating for social justice and educating their peers and their community on pressing issues impacting youth. Karissa Garza is a senior with a deep commitment to social justice and community health. Aspiring to a career in social work, she plans to study social work and psychology in college to further her mission to advocate for vulnerable populations. Since joining the Women’s Alliance in 9th grade, Karissa has led peer education efforts on youth trafficking and financial literacy, presenting their results and educating others at both regional and national meetings. This year (along with the other members of the Women’s Alliance) she is focusing on educating her peers on adverse childhood experiences.
