Brinda Kalra, a PhD candidate at Texas A&M University School of Public Health, is dedicated to promoting mental health awareness and access. As an Albert Schweitzer Fellow, she worked with Amaanah Refugee Services, conducting needs assessments and organizing mental health webinars for refugee women. With a background in occupational therapy and a passion for public health sparked during the COVID-19 pandemic, Brinda aims to de-stigmatize mental health and support underserved populations. Her roots in India have exposed her to the adverse conditions faced by underserved populations, fueling her drive to advocate for improved mental health access and education. She is pursuing a doctorate in Health Education and continues advocating for mental health accessibility and education.
