Alyssa Marie Rivera is a medical student in the San Joaquin Valley Program in Medical Education (SJV PRIME) at UCSF and is dedicated to improving health outcomes for underserved populations. Her undergraduate training in biochemistry and ongoing medical education have provided a solid foundation in the scientific and clinical aspects of healthcare with an emphasis on the role that the social determinants of health play in community health. She is a co-founder of the KidzMedEd Medical Education Apprentice Fellowship in 2020, which aims to increase diversity in healthcare while improving health literacy.
