Nicolette I. Teufel-Shone is a Professor of Health Sciences and Associate Director of the Center for Health Equity Research at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ USA. She collaborates and is engaged in service and research activities with Native Nations in Arizona. Dr. Teufel-Shone is the co-Principal Investigator for the Navajo Native American Research Center for Health (Navajo-NARCH) Partnership, a collaboration between Dine' College and Northern Arizona University since 2017 and Director of the Center for Native American Cancer Health Equity. She is a founding member of the MPH program at the University of Arizona and more recently at Northern Arizona University.
Dr. Teufel-Shone will present with her collaborator, Mae-Gilene Begay, MSW. Ms. Begay is the former Director of the Navajo Nation Community Health Representative Program and currently the President of the Forest Lake Chapter within the Navajo Nation, She and Dr. Teufel-Shone have developed service-learning experiences for graduate students for more than 10 years.
