Dr. Shantesica Gilliam is an Assistant Professor in the Environmental and Health Science Department at Spelman College and directs The SUPERNOVA Lab. Her research focuses on providing resources for underserved populations affected by trauma and violence, conducting advocacy research to understand intersectionality in maternal and child health, and addressing racism as a public health issue. She is also dedicated to transformative teaching, emphasizing health equity and liberation in the classroom.
