Sophia Salem is a second-year doctoral student, graduate researcher and associate instructor at Indiana University Bloomington School of Public Health (IUB). She is a fellow for the Maternal and Child Health Section at the American Public Health Association. Her current research interests include health disparities, social determinants of health, access to prenatal care for minority populations and preeclampsia. She completed her Bachelor and Master of Science in Family, Youth and Community Sciences at the University of Florida. Before attending IU, she worked in numerous roles at the Florida Department of Health in Healthy Start, epidemiology, and HIV/STI research.
