Haley Delgado is an Assistant Professor in the Nursing Department at Heritage University. She holds an MPH in Community Health from Baylor University and is completing her Doctorate in Public Health at Oregon State University. As a health equity researcher, her work focuses on rural and Latine health, chronic disease prevention, and community-based initiatives aimed at addressing health disparities in underserved communities. She uses mixed methods and applies a family systems lens—emphasizing familismo—to guide her research and practice. Haley has worked with diverse populations in Chicago, San Antonio, Austin, Waco, Houston, the South Texas border, and Oregon. She has served as a PCORI Ambassador, a TIPH Ambassador, and President of the Texas Society for Public Health Education Chapter, in addition to being a Graduate Fellow at Oregon State University. Passionate about training healthcare professionals to effectively serve diverse communities, she also prioritizes program evaluation, culturally responsive programming, and advancing equity to reduce health disparities in rural, diverse populations.
