Aditya Bissoonauth serves as the Director of the Family Medicine Service Line at Northwell Health, overseeing the administration, clinical operations, academics, research, global health initiatives, and growth initiatives. He collaborates closely with executive leadership to expand and enhance Family Medicine services within the organization, throughout local communities, and with global stakeholders to improve accessibility and health outcomes.
In addition to his leadership role, Mr. Bissoonauth holds dual academic positions. He is an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and as an Assistant Professor of Population Health (Adjunct) in the Department of Population Health at Hofstra University. Mr. Bissoonauth is also the Assistant Program Director of Hofstra’s Master of Public Health Program. His teaching responsibilities span across undergraduate Health Sciences and Community Health programs, as well as graduate Public Health studies. Additionally, he works with medical students, Family Medicine residents, and undergraduate/graduate students, advancing workforce development, mentorship, leadership, and academic excellence in future healthcare professionals.
Mr. Bissoonauth earned his bachelor’s degree in Toxicology from St. John’s University, followed by Master of Public Health and Master of Business Administration degrees from Hofstra University. Currently, he is pursuing a Doctor of Public Health degree at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health focused on healthcare leadership and management.
