Charity Bishop, MA, CHES, has nearly 30 years experience in Community Health and professional preparation of Health Education Specialists. She is currently serving as the Interim Director of High-Impact Curricular Engagement in the Institute for Engaged Learning at IU Indianapolis, where she also holds a faculty appointment in the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health. She has a special interest in the professional preparation of future health education specialists as well as preparation in the responsibilities and competencies of CHES. Prior to working to academia, she held a variety of positions as a community health practitioner including work with local health departments, conducting community health assessments, and as the Executive Director of community nonprofit agencies.
