At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
Discover at least three communication strategies employed by the Minnesota Department of Health to engage diverse communities of color regarding cytomegalovirus (CMV).
Understand how the Minnesota Department of Health evaluated the effectiveness of its communication strategies to enhance awareness and knowledge of cytomegalovirus (CMV).
Gain insights into best practices for community engagement and collaboration, highlighting the role of inclusive messaging in promoting health equity.

Detailed abstract description: Reading this poster will enhance participants’ understanding of cytomegalovirus (CMV) and its impact on maternal and child health. Additionally, it will enable them to gain practical strategies for designing tailored communications in their own work that resonate with diverse communities of color, addressing health disparities and promoting health equity.
By reviewing an example of how the Minnesota Department of Health engaged underserved populations and distributed culturally relevant messaging to increase awareness and knowledge of CMV, participants will leave equipped with tools and resources to implement impactful health communication initiatives.
Participants will learn about outreach approaches that prioritize making complex information accessible and engage effectively with priority communities. This poster will also highlight the significance of ongoing messaging strategies, ensuring that vital health information continues to be accessible to those who need it most. The work displayed aims to empower individuals and families through informed health choices, ultimately improving community health outcomes.
